When you step inside the Veterans building you see the uniforms belonging to Rusk County Veterans standing at attention with their name tag, what town they are from, and a history of their service. All branches of the military are honored here, from WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and Desert Shield.
Every soldier’s uniform has been displayed with respect for their service to our country in times of war and in times of peace.
Many items ranging from footlockers, field equipment, helmets, rations medals, war posters from the era also on display. Check out my personal favorite…a wartime fruitcake in a can meant for a soldier’s Christmas meal during the Second World War.
